A 13-year-old boy yesterday committed suicide in Molo, Nakuru County.
The boy also reportedly left a note detailing what should be cooked for friends attending his burial.
Nehemiah Muluka, a Standard Six pupil of Sulgwita Primary School, is said to have been asked by his teacher to report to school on Monday in the company of his parents to sort out issues regarding his birth certificate.
“My son’s birth certificate had some issues with the names. He was told I should accompany him to school to shed light on the matter but he went missing,” said Daniel Majimbo, Muluka's father.
Mr Majimbo said on Sunday morning, he sent his younger daughter to the shop with Sh100. He said Muluka accosted her, snatched the money and took off.
“I only got reports of the incident in the evening but he didn’t show up,” said Majimbo.
On Tuesday afternoon, his daughter, who was alone at home, raised the alarm when she found his body dangling from the roof of the house.
“We found a suicide note stating that he loved his siblings. He named a few friends who he wanted to attend his burial and indicated chapati should be cooked for them. He did not give a reason why he took his life,” said area Chief Jackson Njoroge.
Muluka's body was taken to the Molo Sub-County Hospital mortuary
