Nine people injured in road accident

Nine people were injured when a matatu they travelling in collided with a lorry.

The accident occurred near Rambira trading centre in Rachuonyo North sub-county Sunday. The lorry was being driven from Katito while the matatu was from Kendu Bay town.

Witnesses said the incident occurred when the driver of the matatu lost control of the vehicle and it collided head-on with the oncoming lorry.

“Both vehicles were travelling at a high speed before the accient,” said a witness.

Homa Bay County Police Commander Marius Tum said the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals.
