Criminals have infiltrated the boda boda business and are using it as a ruse to commit crimes, a county commissioner has said.
The trend has raised concern within security agents, as the thugs use the trade to escape arrests. Kassim Farrah, has issued a stern warning to those in the business of perpetrating crime and masquerading as taxi operators.
Some rowdy riders torched a passenger bus last week.
"We are now dealing with a criminal gang and not boda boda riders," he said.
Speaking in the Ndhiwa town, Mr Farrah warned that they will not allow the operators to wilfully destroy property.
