KISUMU, KENYA: Kisumu governor Peter Anyang Nyong’o said on Wednesday that Kenyans would be justified to rebel if repeat presidential election goes on as planned.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has set October 26 as the date for repeat poll following nullification of August 8 results by Justice Maraga led Supreme Court.
National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga who challenged the results won’t participate in the elections claiming the commission cannot conduct credible poll as is currently constituted.
“If the government subverts the sovereign will of the people ... then people are entitled to rebel against this government,” Anyang Nyong‘o told reuters on Wednesday.
