Police in Laikipia North are investigating an attack on the employees of a tourist lodge in which one person was killed and another one injured on Monday night.

Laikipia North police boss Joel Otii said Paul Kagema, 25, was killed with a spear while his colleague, George Wachira, 27, was injured after he was shot in the thigh.

Mr Otii said the two were in a group of employees of Enasoit Wildlife Sanctuary who had gone to buy groceries at Naibor market at 7.30pm when they encountered a group of cattle rustlers driving away stolen camels.

“When one of them raised the alarm he was shot in the thigh. His companion yelled and the rustlers speared him," he said.
