National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Musalia Mudavadi says President Uhuru Kenyatta has already conceded defeat ahead of the repeat presidential election.
According to Mudavadi, the President has bowed out of the race because he is already talking of impeaching NASA leader Raila Odinga if he (Raila) is elected.
The Amani National Congress (ANC) leader also demanded that the NASA coalition needs answers on how the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) used close to 40 billion to conduct the August 8 General Election.
“We are asking ourselves and we also want Kenyans to ask themselves, the budget IEBC used was close to 40 billion to conduct the August 8 General Election and Chiloba is asking for another 12 billion for the repeat election. Where is the sense of accountability?” asked Mudavadi.
Accompanied by NASA luminaries, Mudavadi spoke during a rally in Kibra Constituency, Nairobi on Tuesday afternoon.
Commissioners at the IEBC resolved to work together to deliver a free, fair and credible election on 17th.
Speaking at a retreat in Naivasha on Monday, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati indicated that the commission discussed issues that surrounded the August 8 election and will ensure there will be a smooth process.
Chebukati also revealed that IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba will oversee the project team he appointed last week for the fresh showdown.
