Kenya’s badminton players will be hoping to outshine their hosts and reclaim the title in this year’s East Africa games in Uganda. The homeboys and girls won both titles in the 2015 championships in Huye, Rwanda, but lost to rivals Uganda in Eldoret in last year’s games.
Oshwal Academy Nairobi and Kivaywa School players from Western Region will lead the country’s campaign. Sending an early warning to their hosts, Oshwal coach Martin Kanyaga said they would not rest until they finished the race. “We have a stronger team compared with our 2016 squad and they should know that we mean business.”
