Early results show Ruto trailing Laboso in Bomet County

NAIROBI, KENYA: Kenyans trooped to polling stations as early as 5 am to elect six different leaders.

The assignment included electing Members of County Assembly (MCA), Members of Parliament (MP), Women Representatives, Senators, Governors and President.

Kenya’s new constitution created the office of governor who is the chief executive officer of a county and the country currently has 47 governors.

By 4.00am, Mike Sonko Mbuvi at 199, 970 was leading incumbent Evans Kidero who had 161678 votes.

In Bomet, Governor Rutto was by 4.00am trailing Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso. Governor Rutto running on Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) had garnered 61086 votes against Laboso’s 128 590 votes (67,79percent)

By 4.19am former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru was ahead in Kirinyaga race with her closest rival Martha Karua coming second at 38776 votes same time.

In Kiambu County, by 4.20am Ferdinand Waititu (Baba Yao) was ahead of Incumbent William Kabogo garnering 431, 615 votes against Kabogo’s 115 050 votes.

By 4.15am in Uasin Gishu, incumbent governor Jackson Mandago was ahead of his main rival Zedekiah Buzeki Kiprop Bundotich.

Mandago of Jubilee Party had by 4.15 garnered 158 235 votes (59,42 percent) while Buzeki had 108 083 votes representing 40,58 percent.

By 4.20am in Mombasa County, Governor Joho of ODM was ahead with 52 197 votes (65,27 percent).
