It’s so chilly and the last thing you really need in your mind is hair trouble. Tuck it away and give sit some much needed breathing space by using any of these protective hairstyles. Not only do the protective styles help retain moisture but aid in hair growth since there is very little manipulation if any.
CROTCHET BRAIDS
Yes the fad is still on and we love it two years on. Using any brand of crotchet hair preferably the marley brand, this style allows you to experiment with various lengths, colors and textures while keeping your hair safe and undamaged. This is achieved after braiding your hair backwards or on single braids or hair held backwards and braids are attached into the lines etc using a latch hook.
FAUX LOCS
Growing in popularity over the years, this is one commitment you can have without it being permanent. Faux locs using synthetic hair or yarn gives you options for a variety of styles. You can either wrap the hair or crotchet it the option is yours.
WIGS
For the simplest way to protect your hair, a wig is all you need. Synthetic or human pick one that works for you. To get a more natural look go for a lace wig or a weave with a closure in human hair texture.
BRAIDS
This has and always will be a go to because it meets functionality and price. Whether box braids or ombre make it your own.
TWISTS
If the three strand braids or tatu tatu as it is known locally doesn’t cut it, then go for twists. Not only are they easier and faster to undo but offer similar benefits as normal braids do. You can pick from Havana twists, kinky twist braids, marley twists the choice is yours.
GHANIAN LINES
Another popular hairstyle is the Ghanian lines that many women love to do. Instead of the usual, play around with it and try something different away from the plain lines going backwards that have become Kenya uniform.
