Former Cabinet Minister Nicholas Biwott passes on

Former Cabinet Minister Nicholas Biwott has died at a Nairobi hospital where he had been taken for treatment. 

He is said to have collapsed at his home in Kileleshwa as he was getting into the car. His body has been moved to Lee Funeral Home. 

Biwott, a former Member of Parliament for Keiyo South Constituency for 28 years served during the administration of former presidents Jomo Kenyatta, Daniel arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki.

Nicknamed, Total Man, Biwott was a powerful Cabinet Minister during the reign of Daniel Moi.

In his message of condolence, Former President Daniel arap Moi said he has known Biwott since 1950s both being leaders from Rift Valley then.

He said Biwott who served in various ministerial positions in his government was a dedicated public servant, an astute businessman and a philanthropist who initiated community projects to alleviate the suffering of the people he represented of Keiyo.

Mzee Moi who described Biwott as dependable friend said his public service had an impact to the Nation. He prayed to God to give the family of the late courage to bear the loss of their loved one.
