The county government has introduced free milk to all Early Childhood Development pupils in public schools.

In a Sh50 million budget, the more than 124,000 pupils will now benefit from the milk added into the school feeding programme.

While launching the programme at the County headquarters Governor Amason Kingi said the system will increase the number of enrollment in the centres.

“We have constructed more than 805 ECD centres and with the introduction of this milk we expect the numbers to go up,” he said.

Such projects have been lauded because they help to retain children in schools.
