City woman accused of stealing, hiding 5kg of meat under her clothes

A woman allegedly busted with five kilos of meat hidden under her clothes has denied the charge.

Tulu Charles (pictured) was accused of stealing meat worth Sh2,000 on November 27, the property of Godana Dika. It is alleged that Tulu checked into the butchery around 11am to buy meat only to steal some from the refrigerator.

She was however spotted carrying unusual luggage tucked under her garments just below her stomach.

The court heard that the suspect took off, prompting security guards to raise the alarm, which attracting the public who gave chase.

Police from Huruma arrived in time to save her from the wrath of the mob. She denied the charges and was released on Sh5,000 cash bail.

The hearing was set for March 16 next year.
