Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero’s wife Susan Mboya has been awarded an honorary degree for her exemplary work with women and girls. Susan was awarded an honorary doctorate degree by the University of Massachusetts (UMass).
She attended a dinner in her honour, at the Edward M Kennedy Institute in Boston and a luncheon by the Dean of the McCormick school of Policy and Global studies, at the UMass Club in Boston, at which she addressed 35 women leaders.
Susan is currently the Group Director of Eurasia, Africa Group (EAG) for women’s economic empowerment at Coca-Cola, and President of Coca-Cola Africa Foundation (TCCAF). She leads the deployment of TCCAF initiatives and the 5by20 initiative, a global effort to economically empower five million women by 2020.
She forged public-private partnerships with USaid, Plan UK, Technoserve and MercyCorps.
