Meru Governor Peter Munya

Central Imenti community leaders and Njuri Ncheke elders have declared their support for Meru Governor Peter Munya.

Over 10 former councilors, area Members of County Assembly and elders, announced that they would join a new political party being fronted by Munya, now that the area’s dominant party, the Alliance Party of Kenya, is set for dissolution.

Led by Meru County Assembly Majority Leader Ayub Bundi, Imenti Central’s Njuri Ncheke chairman Ronald Muriithi, the leaders said Munya had brought development to the previously marginalised region. Munya said the APK had put Meru on the national political map, and he was disturbed that there are plans to dissolve the party, to join Jubilee Party of Kenya.
