Shocking picture of man and toddler with Jihadi emblem in London just before 7/7 terror anniversary

A man was spotted walking through the heart of London with an ISIS flag draped around him – just before the capital commemorates the 7/7 terror attacks.

On his shoulders a little girl excitedly waved a smaller flag as they mingled with hundreds of tourists outside Parliament Square.

The images were posted on a Korean forum after a tourist spotted the man walking around central London on Saturday.

It comes just one week after 30 British tourists were gunned down on a Tunisian beach by an ISIS militant and days before the capital commemorates those killed in the 7/7 terror attacks.

The image of the man has been shared on social media with one Twitter user, Gavin, asking: "WHY are we allowing this to happen on our streets a man walking past big ben with an ISIS flag (sic)".

Police stopped the man but could not do anything because he was not breaking the law.

Metropolitan Police have confirmed to Mirror.co.uk that the man was stopped by officers but they could not do anything because he was not breaking the law.

The spokesman said: "This man was spoken to by officers with consideration given to relevant legislation and a decision was taken by officers at the time that the man was acting within the law. He was not arrested."

He added: "Wearing, carrying or displaying of an emblem or flag, by itself, is not an offence unless; the way in which, or the circumstance in which, the emblem is worn, carried or displayed is such as to cause reasonable suspicion that the person is a supporter or member of a proscribed organization.

"While support of and membership of ISIS is unlawful it is not a criminal offence to advocate the creation of an independent state."
