Leaders split on Gideon Mung'aro removal

MOMBASA COUNTY: Coast leaders are sharply divided over the sacking of Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro as CORD's Minority Chief Whip. While Mung'aro blamed his political woes on Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar, the latter told him to understand that CORD and Jubilee have different ideologies and that it was not possible to mix the two.

Addressing a funds drive in Likoni on Saturday evening, Omar denied interfering with politics of Kilifi County but noted that CORD leaders who were turning to Jubilee were not only going against their coalition's interest but also against their own people who elected them.
