Machakos residents want public viewing of Mutula’s body

By Victor Nzuma
MACHAKOS, KENYA:
Residents of Machakos County have petitioned the late Mutula Kilonzo’s family to consider taking the body to the area for a public viewing before its burial.

The residents who comprised leaders and business community said since Mutula was a hero from Ukambani his body should be stationed at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos town for viewing and last respect by all those who liked his style of leadership.

''Since Machakos town is the heart of of Ukambani region, it should be used as the central ground for everyone to see the body before he is buried'' said the residents.

They said all could not be accommodated at the burial site and therefore the suggestion of bringing the body to the stadium would reduce congestion at the burial ceremony.

The residents at the same time argued that Mutula was equally a resident of the county apart from Makueni since he had a home and a series of businesses in Machakos.

They called on Kenyans to be patient and stop any manner of speculation until the cause of his death is released by the doctors.

They however, maintained that no stone should be left unturned until the cause of Mutula’s death is revealed to the public.
