Campus ‘divas’ would never date Obama

By Nikko Tanui

Since US First Lady Michelle Obama gave a classic speech at Democratic National Convention in support of her husband’s second presidential bid, men have been gnashing their teeth for a Michelle.

Tough luck. God made only one! Interestingly, I have not heard any woman talk about the grand lessons in Michelle’s speech but the sexy pink and silver brocade dress and pink pumps she wore.

Anyway, let’s draw some parallels between this tough woman and what we are stuck with. First, Michelle disclosed that when she first met Obama, his proudest possession was a coffee table he’d found in a dumpster, and his only pair of decent shoes was half a size too small.

She added that he would pick her up for dates in a car that was so rusted out she could actually see the pavement going by through a hole in the passenger side door.

Had she been a Kenyan woman, she would have labeled him a ‘sufferer’ and coldly told him to get lost. He is the kind of man our ‘Campus Divas for Rich Men’ would never touch.

Interestingly, US Republican Party presidential candidate’s wife, Ann Romney, had earlier reminisced about their start in a basement apartment eating pasta and tuna fish dinners on an ironing board.

“We were both very young, still in college. There were many reasons to delay marriage, and you know? We just didn’t care!” she said.

Now, where can one find a beautiful Kenyan woman who wants to get married to a broke college student?

Secondly, Michelle disclosed that Obama began his career by turning down high paying jobs and instead worked in the equivalent of our slums in the US.

Which Kenyan woman would have stayed with a guy playing mother Theresa while his peers were making money and buying big cars?
