Bob Marley’s granddaughter in Nairobi for One Love

Donisha Bob Marley — who has been in Kenya for the last one week will on Friday lead the world in marking the One Love Day.

The day celebrates world peace and calls for nations to unite against war, rape, pollution, fear and ethnic and cultural differences.

“Today, somewhere in the world there is war, rape and pollution and that is why we are calling for one love,” Donisha told Pulse, on Thursday.

 From the 1800’s, Marcus Garvey’s mission was to organise, centralise and mobilise the minds and hearts of our people to one vision.

“He travelled the far corners of the earth and discovered that what people need is love for self, the earth, each other, and a united vision towards a greater mission. He inspired generations of men and women including Bob Marley to be greater than only what we see,” she added.

The song One Love was written by Bob Marley in 1965. It was a time in world history of political, spiritual and psychological warfare...no different from today. Marley’s musical mission was to bring light to the injustices of humanity and give hope through the message in Reggae Music.

“The Vision still lives. This Friday on Marcus Garvey’s Earthday, wherever in the world you are at 1pm, join the world in a One Love Moment. Play, sing or hum the song.

Hug your brother, call a friend, share knowledge and feed a stranger,” she concluded.
