Kenyan DJs in freak accident in USA

Legendary Kenyan DJ Babu, who is remembered for long serving at Nairobi’s Florida 2000 and inspiring other local deejays, was last week involved in a near-death accident together with fellow Kenyan DJ Kaka.

According to another Kenyan, deejay Fully Focus who works with the two at Take Over Deejays unit, Babu and Kaka were taken to ICU after the accident. Fully Focus confirmed the reports to Eve Gal and The Dude online. He is now asking fans to help their families raise money for his business partners’ treatment.

“DJ Babu and Kaka were travelling back to DC when they pulled off on the side of the highway... when another car travelling on the highway lost control and veered off striking both their bodies directly as well as the car,” wrote DJ Fully Focus.

The two have undergone successful surgeries but are still at Christina Hospital Trauma Centre in Delaware.

“Our goal is $10,000 (Sh850,000). Babu’s sisters and mother (who reside in New Jersey) and Kaka’s wife (residing in Maryland) have taken time off work since the accident took place to be with their loved ones. The duration for recovery is said to be three to six months (which also means no work/events/income during this time). Should we not reach our goal of $10,000, that’s ok because anything helps at this point,” Fully Focus explained.
