Darkness covers region as power lines go down

The supply of electricity by Kenya Power to Mt Kenya South region was interruptedafter two major lines collapsed over the weekend.

The region, which comprises Thika, Kagundo, Gatundu and their environs have as a result been engulfed in darkness.
On Sunday evening, Engineer Benson Muriithi, the chief manager in charge of distribution, said the main lines connecting the region from Tana Power Station collapsed following heavy rains and vandalism.
