Museveni sworn in

President Yoweri Museveni’s swearing in ceremony today was overshadowed by a noisy celebration to welcome his main rival back home. Museveni took the oath for a fifth term as police and military units fired teargas in an attempt to disperse crowds that had gathered along the road from Entebbe international airport into Kampala to welcome opposition leader Kizza Besigye. In apparent reference to his rival, Museveni warned that all disruptive schemes would be defeated.
