As over 1000 families are said to have voluntarily left the mau, interim co-ordination secretariat chairman Noor Hassan Noor insists that people will be treated humanely, and that the process has proceeded better than he expected. Hassan and his secretariat are now preparing for perhaps the tougher stage in the reclamation of the mau; convincing those with titles in the reserve to give them up. A hard task at any rate, Hassans strategy is to tug n Kenyans heart strings, and claims that it seems to already be working.
