Two brothers who allegedly killed their elder sibling in a domestic quarrel have escaped to Tanzania.

The two are said to have set upon the deceased with pangas and knives, after a squabble over an undisclosed matter in Kuria District.

Nyanza Deputy PPO Larry Kieng’ said yesterday the deceased, Daniel Monanga, 40, sustained fatal head injuries on Monday evening at Mutilio, Kehancha.

"The deceased sustained deep cuts on the head and died after excessive bleeding," he said.

Meanwhile, two gangsters who have been masquerading as police officers and extorting money from the public in Kakamega town have been arrested and homemade guns recovered.

Kakamega OCPD John Mwinzi said they were arrested in Kefinko Estate after a tip-off.

"They were arrested in their hideout, but two others escaped the police dragnet," said Mr Mwinzi in his Kakamega office.

He said the police were on their trail and they would be arrested.

"We had received complaints of harassment and extortion at night from the public," he added.
