More than 36,000 youth in Kakamega County have benefitted from business startup grants totalling Sh1.404 billion from the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (Msea).
Speaking while handing over the Ikolomani Constituency Industrial Development Centre yesterday, director of infrastructure at Msea, Edward Karani, said an additional 49,701 youth had been trained on business development.
“Applicants sent over 100,000 business proposals but only 36,865 met the required threshold for funding,” said Karani.
