Bishop Margaret Wanjiru’s son speaks on his mother’s illness

Jesus is Alive Ministries (JIAM) founder Bishop Margaret Wanjiru was hospitalized after testing positive for Coronavirus and her son has come out to speak on her illness.

Through a video on YouTube, Rev Evans Kariuki opened up on his mother’s health condition thanking all those who supported them through prayer.

“I am the son of Bishop Margaret Wanjiru and I wanted to thank everyone for the thousands of prayers that we have received.

"When my mother was taken to hospital, the doctors said she had a blood oxygen level of below 60 per cent, which was very dire and she was taken to the ICU unit. She was not able to breathe on her own," he stated in a video online,” said Kariuki.

He further revealed that their family worked hand in hand with health officials to trace the 18 people who were later quarantined.

On reports that his mother contracted the virus after hosting a prayer meeting at her house, Kariuki said they would not do anything that goes against the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health.

“I say this, as men and women of prayer and are not ashamed of it. We would not go against the government's directive in our activities," he stated.

On Saturday, Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman called on leaders to walk the talk by observing social distancing.

This comes just a day after a section of leaders from western region congregated at the home of COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli.

Some of the legislators were seen wearing masks on their chins, oblivious of the danger they were exposing themselves to.

However, they all sanitized at the entrance although they were not adhering to social distancing while addressing the press.

The country registered 143 new cases on Saturday bringing the total to 1888 positive cases.
