A Lamu Court on Tuesday, May 26, released Omar Lali, boyfriend to Keroche
Breweries heiress Tecra Muigai who died late last month.
Principal Magistrate Allan Temba declined to extend Lali’s
detention stating that detectives have not find any evidence despite visiting
the crime scene.
50-year-old Omar Lali was arrested early this month in Lamu
County where he lived with the late Tecra Muigai and detained at the Lamu
Police Station following her death.
Magistrate Tembe allowed the police to hold Omar for 21 days
to enable them do a comprehensive investigation on Tecra death.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the
Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) applied to have Omar Lali detained for
one more week but the court declined.
Magistrate Tembe argued that the police had visited the crimes scene three times and the suspect fully cooperated.
Tecra
Muigai reportedly died after a fall. Until her death, she was the Strategy
and Innovation Director at Keroche Breweries.
The Keroche
Board and Directors described Tecra as brilliant adding that her passion and
energy were the source of crucial innovations in enriching the company’s products.
She is the
