We cannot pretend that all is well in Jubilee — Sabina Chege

Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege on Tuesday stated that it is no secret that there are wrangles in Jubilee Party.

Speaking during a TV interview, Chege said that problems started when a section of the legislators started campaigning instead of working.

“We cannot pretend things are good in Jubilee. The question is when the rain started beating us…The President asked us to work, not campaign…There has been betrayal and disloyalty.

“When the handshake came very many people within Jubilee were not very comfortable…They were a bit suspicious,” she said.

Chege also opined on the State House meeting that was snubbed by some leaders, saying some of the Jubilee party members are not loyal to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

She added that it was about time for the President to crack the whip, referring to instances when some even dared the Head of State.

“When people say someone is being targeted I do not think they are being honest with Kenyans.

“We saw this coming and the President told us to first work for Kenyans and stop politicking,” she said.

This comes days after Jubilee Party politicians allied to DP William Ruto claimed the recent removal of senate majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen was a message to the DP.

The lawmaker said that the President had been very patient even when some leaders kept daring him at rallies.

“When people go to his (Uhuru’s) backyard and say someone else was campaigning for him…that was below the belt.

“It is high time as a party that we come together and work together…The fights we have had are really not helping anyone,” she remarked.
