The Jubilee Party on Monday issued a third update regarding Secretary-General Raphael Tuju who has been in hospital for the past couple days.

Through a statement to newsrooms, the party stated that Tuju had been immobilised for the past four days to minimize aggravation of the injuries.

However, Albert Memusi, the party’s Communications Director, stated that Tuju is now conscious and fully in control of his limbs.

“He is conscious and fully in control of his limbs just as he was when he walked into the accident and emergency section of Kijabe Hospital.

“For the past four days Tuju has been immobilized to minimize aggravation of the injuries he sustained and the doctors assure that everything is under control and urge patience from all concerned,” read the statement in part.

Tuju’s family extended their appreciation to all those who have been praying and sending messages of goodwill but asked the public to give him time to recover before he can be visited.

“The family wishes to reassure all that the patient is under very able hands of both in-house and consultant healthcare givers,” stated Memusi.

Tuju was involved in an accident as he headed to former President Daniel arap Moi's burial in Kabarak, Nakuru County, on February 12.

Following the accident near Kijabe on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway, he was rushed to Kijabe Hospital and then airlifted to Karen Hospital in Nairobi later that afternoon.
