Popular Classic 105 radio host Maina Kageni on Friday lashed out at Embakasi East Babu Owino who was accused of shooting a DJ at a Nairobi club.

Through his Twitter account, Kageni condemned the incident and told Babu to prepare for what is about to come his way.

“Babu Owino….. that man was unarmed.... you'd better pray that he makes it..... then, prepare for Karma's knock at your door..... NANZENZ,” wrote Kageni.

Other leaders also weighed in on the matter but asked the public to give police time to conclude investigations.

In a video that did rounds on social media on Friday, a man who is believed to be Babu is seen pulling out a gun and firing at someone who is standing next to him while holding a shisha pipe.

The man was later identified as DJ Evolve and he is currently recuperating in hospital.

On his part, Babu argued that he has receiving death threats for the past couple of months and stated that he had reported the same to authorities.

He stated that during the shooting incident he was in the company of his friends when a ‘large group of aggressive individuals surrounded him.

“Yesterday was the culmination of these efforts by my enemies. While enjoying the company of my friends at a popular Nairobi restuarant, I was surrounded by a large group of aggressive individuals.

“In the melee, there was an exchange of gunfire. I invite the relevant authorities to conduct their investigations without fear or favor and I remain confident that the truth will come out,” he said.

Adding: “I urge my supporters to remain calm. I will continue to serve wananchi fearlessly. This will not deter me from supporting H. E Uhuru Kenyatta and H. E Raila Odinga in the journey to transform our country.”
