The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) on Sunday, November 10, 2019, released a statement in response to Deputy President William Ruto’s accusations.
According to the statement, ODM accused the Deputy President of participating in both the Ganda ward and Kibra Constituency by-elections to cause mayhem.
“Ruto was not in any of these by-elections to win. He was in these polls to divide Kenyans along ethnic, regional and party lines using money and lies.” Read a statement.
This came after Ruto, through his twitter account, accused the party of using violence, chaos, mayhem, and terror as a strategy to win the Kibra constituency by-elections.

“The ONLY strategy and structure Tinga's party had which largely succeeded was, violence, chaos, mayhem & terror meted out by organized baba's militia, the same instruments used by terrorist organizations including outlawed groups” posted the Deputy President.
The party said that their wins in both Kibra and Ganda polls left DP Ruto a “bitter, isolated and frustrated man”.
In the statement, ODM accused the DP of attempting to use both by-elections to teach former prime minister Raila Odinga a lesson.
