Students at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) were quick to express their displeasure after the arrest of a drug dealer along Limuru Road in Nairobi.
According to the police, Hillary Wanjiku Wachira was arrested following a tip-off from the members of the public.
The suspect then led the police to his house, where Caroline Nyambura, a JKUAT student, was also nabbed.

After the news broke out, bloggers and some social media users were quick to insist that the girl arrested was a JKUAT student.
This did not rest well with her fellow students of the university who openly expressed their disappointment towards them.
“She was there as a girlfriend, not JKUAT representative,” Complained Dorothy Mbarikiwa, a Facebook user.
“She is there in her capacity as a girlfriend, where is the name JKUAT coming from,” asked Angela Akoth, a social media user. “
“What is the connection between JKUAT student found in his house and drug Trafficking” added Chero Chero on Facebook.
A police source described the arrested suspect to be a wanted drug dealer who sells drugs to university students and slum dwellers.
“Wachira is a notorious drug dealer who operates in secrecy to avoid being detected by law enforcement officers.”
He is one of the many traffickers in the country selling drugs with impunity to slum dwellers and university students,” said the police source.
The two are set to be presented in court as further investigations continue.
