Two men were shot dead and a third one seriously injured when gunmen shot at two vehicles along the Southern by-pass on Saturday night.
Two of the dead men were driving in the same car while a third man who survived with serious gunshot wounds was in a separate car.
A police report on the incident indicated that the officers on patrol heard gunshots at around 10.40pm.
The vehicle in which the dead men were driving, a Toyota fielder was riddled with bullet holes.

The occupants in the vehicle did not have any identification document on them, police said in an internal communication on Saturday.
About 500 meters from the scene, another vehicle, a Toyota Premio with a lone passenger was found in a thicket.
In the boot of this car, police claimed to have found several number plates.
The man in the second vehicle was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital where he was admitted with gunshot wounds in the chest and stomach.
