Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chair Wafula Chebukati has finally blown the trumpet of the 2017 presidential election verdict were he announced Mr Uhuru Mwigai Kenyatta as the fifth president of the republic of Kenya.
Uhuru Kenyatta who vied on Jubilee ticket garnered a total of 8,203, 290 votes representing 54.27 % against his incumbent NASA competitor Raila Odinga who managed 6,769,224 votes a 44. 74% representation of the total votes casted.
“I therefore declare Uhuru Kenyatta as the president elect and William Ruto as the deputy president elect,” said IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati.
Joseph Nyaga managed 42,259 votes (0.28%) , Michael Mwaura 13,257 (0.09%) , Enkuru Orkot 27,311( 0.18%), Mohammed Dida 38,000 (0.25%), Japheth kaluyu 16,482 (0.11%) and Shagalaga Jirongo 11,712(0.08%) .
Speaking at Bomas of Kenya, Mr Chebukati said IEBC has conducted a free, fair and credible election and was in the similar rank with other national electoral bodies in the world systems.

“We committed ourselves to see the election is conducted in free and credible manner. The officers worked tirelessly and determined to make it a free and fare election. Our democracy has matured “said Chebukati.
The electoral chair speaking in the position of the National presidential returning officer lauded Kenyans for exercising their democratic rights maturely and maintaining peace across the state.
Raila Odinga took a lead in Mombasa County with a 69.98%, Kwale 74.82%, Kilifi 83.63%, Tana River 51.85%, Taita Taveta 70.99%, Turkana 59.87%, Trans Nzoia 54.22%, Kakamega 87.31%, Vihiga 89.39%, Bungoma 68.03%, Busia 86.82%, Siaya 99.11%, Kisumu 97.64%, Homabay 99.34%, Migori 85.07%, Kisii 55.28% and Nairobi 50.85%.
Mr. Kenyatta toppled over Odinga in Garissa County with 48.38%, Marsabit 83.38%, Isiolo 49.43%, Wajir 50.98%, Meru 88.82% , Mandera 82.88%, West Pokot 64.61%, Samburu 49.64%, Uasin Gishu 77.79%, Elgeyo Marakwet 94.63%, Nandi 86.84%, Baringo 84.78%, Laikipia 89.11%, Nakuru 84.74%, Kajiado 57.15%, Bomet 87.04%,Tharaka Nithi 93.15%, Embu 92.63%, Nyamira 52% and Diaspora 52.88%.
