A church crusade was forced to end abruptly when irate residents burnt the dais and threatened to lynch the preacher and worshippers.
Mosoriot residents accused the preacher of insulting the Nandi circumcision rite after he dismissed it as "devilish".
"We will not allow any preacher to expose and taint our traditional rite of passage. Our circumcision custom is revered among the Nandi and it is taboo for anyone to trash it in this manner," said an angry resident.
The preacher was shielded by police officers from Mosoriot Police Post who arrived at the scene promptly.
But their presence did not deter the angry mob, who faulted the preacher for revealing "deep secrets" related to the rite.
