An investigation officer narrated to a court how a man raped and killed a university student in Nairobi in 2012. Sergent John Shegu who appeared before High Court judge Stella Mutuko Thursday said he used a mobile phone to trace the accused.
Shegu told the court that the accused, Elly Wanga Omondi, raped the student before killing her and dumping her body under the bed.
Omondi was accused that he murdered Edinah Nyanchama Mogambi on March 25, 2012 at Mbotela Teleposta Staff Quarters in Nairobi.
Mogambi, who was a first year student at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) is said to have been hit with an object before she died.
“She was raped and killed and after the investigations, I found out that she was hit by a piece of wood,” Shegu said.
