Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua has embarked on a process to renovate Machakos Stadium (known as Kenyatta Stadium for over 40 years) to a National status.
The stadium is set to host some matches of the Council for East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) Senior Challenge Cup which kicks-off on November 27 through to December 12.
It is part of the plans that the governor had for the county, alongside constructing the New Machakos City that was launched by President Uhuru Kenyatta last week.
