Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has accused UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala of allegedly working with the opposition to wreck the party from within.

Barasa claimed that he has evidence showing that Malala was being used by ODM to incite the people in Western region against Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula.

Addressing journalists at Parliament Buildings, Nairobi, yesterday, the Kimilili MP claimed that the decision by the UDA Secretary General to hold meetings in Bungoma and Vihiga counties to incite locals against Mudavadi and Wetang'ula was a clear indication that he was working against the interests of President William Ruto and Kenya Kwanza Alliance in the region.

"By having Malala holding meetings in Vihiga and demanding that Mudavadi shows what he has done for the people and holding meetings in Bungoma and asking Wetangula to list what he has done for the people is a clear signal that he was out to divide the ruling party from within," he said.

Barasa further claimed that the happenings of the last three months were a clear indication that Malala had been hired by ODM and its symphatisers to divide the ruling party and he does not understand the efforts that President Ruto and other leaders put in to ensure the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Speaker joined Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

The MP said that by fighting Mudavadi and Wetang'ula, the UDA Secretary General was weakening Kenya Kwanza in Western to pave way for ODM which is smarting from politics of antagonism and deceit against its partners to have a field day in Western during the 2027 General Election.

"By inciting the people of western Kenya against Mudavadi and Wetang'ula, Malala is basically creating the impression that President William Ruto has not delivered the promises made to our people and therefore he has clearly been hired to work for the ODM party," he said.

When contacted to respond to the allegations made against him by Barasa, the UDA Secretary General said that he did not have any comments.
