It was a bright Friday morning last June 13 when we started our trip to the William Holden Education Centre, Nanyuki.

On the way, we saw Fresian and beef cattle, we also saw crops such as maize and bananas.

The following day we went to the library where we learnt that the foundation was started by Don Hunt and Stephanie Powers in 1980. They constructed the centre in 1982 and made it an animal orphanage. There were animals such as Ilamas, wilderbeest, albino zebras, zebroids, common zebras, warthogs, white rhinos, cape buffaloes, kongoni, mountain bongo and antelopes.

We also went to the weather station where there was a house also called the White House.

We saw a tank full of dung of the Ilamas, which is used to make biogas, and also a three stone fireplace for cooking.

We learnt a lot during our trip and had a lot of fun.
