Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa continued to showcase their dominance as the Coast Junior swimming championships came to an end yesterday at the Aga Khan Academy Swimming pool.
The championships started last Saturday but could not conclude on Sunday following twin bomb blast at the coast thus prompting the organisers to shelve it to yesterday.
Before the start of yesterday’s events, swimmers and spectators observed a one-minute silence in memory of four people who died in blasts.
In girls seven years 25m free, Michelle Ndanu of Oshwal Academy, Nyali was star after she clocked 21.29 to win beating Tugi Nyaga of Aga Khan to the second slot with a time of 21.64. Zahida Kizito of Dolphin Swim Club was third timing of 22.20 seconds.

In boys seven years 25m free, Ivan Hart of Aga Khan won with a time of 17.18 while Timur Alibhai of Oshwal, Nyali and Sathyam Gohil of Aga Khan, clocked 19.19 and 19.94 for the second and third slots respectively.
In girls eight years 25m free, Laylaa Kizito of Dolphins emerged the best with a time of 17.67. Gakeina Mwige of Aga Khan, and Nyali Primary School’s Sarah Nicole timed 19.15 and 19.81.

In boys eight years 25m free, Aryen Muravej and Rayan Pasta both of Aga Khan, timed 17.89 and 20.01 for the first and third slots while Faris Balala of Oshwal, Nyali was second in 18.90.
In girls nine years 25m free, Wambui Hilda of Busy Bee School emerged victorious timing 18.60. Kreshi Shavdia of Oshwal, and Debra Langat of Nyali Primary clocked 19.56 and 19.67.
In boys nine years 25m free, Nyali Primary School’s Stephen Ndegwa, Fardeen Hasham and Muhammed Wajahat both from Jaffery Mombasa timed 15.91, 16.11 and 16.28 for first, second and third.
In girls 10 years 50m free, Tiana Vora and Maru Dhrishti both of Aga Khan timed 36.08 and 38.80 for the first and second slots. Agade Liane of Busy Bee School was third with a time of 39.88.
In boys 10 years 50m free, John Paul of Mombasa Academy won with a time of 33.15 seconds. Kunaal Khagram of Aga Khan and Nyali Primary School’s Thomas Tabuka clocked 34.12 and 34.34.
In relays, Ndanu Michelle led her Oshwal swimmers to win girls seven years 100m medley relay with a time of 1.46.58. Ndanu’s team comprised of Neeshi Shavdia, Amor Tigo and Emma Wambui.
In boys seven years 100m medley relay, Aga Khan team of Sathyam Gohil, Ivan Hart and Toviel Kioko won with a time of 1.46.66 seconds.
