One person has died and three others injured in an accident involving three vehicles at Sachang'wan area along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.
Molo Sub-County Police Commander Samuel Mukusi confirmed the accident saying that police officers are processing the scene.
First responder Rachael Maru said that the accident involved a trailer, a pickup truck, and a private car. "The trailer had failed brakes and rammed into a private car which had four passengers on board. It then crashed into a pickup truck belonging to the United Nations which had two people on board," said Maru.
She explained that the driver of the trailer died on the spot while a passenger in the private car and two in the UN pickup truck were injured and rushed to a Nakuru hospital.
According to Pastor Joel Too, the trailer was stopped by a median barrier erected in the middle of the highway to separate traffic flowing in the opposite directions. "The trailer careened along the highway for more than a hundred meters occasionally ramming into the barrier. It then knocked the two vehicles off the road. Without the barrier there would have been more casualties," said Too.
