One of the newly acquired fire engine in Nakuru County has been involved in a road accident at Migaa area, along Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.
According to the Rift Valley traffic enforcement officer Rashid Ali, one person was killed and another sustained injuries.
The accident occurred at 5.30am as the Sh50 million fire engine was heading to a scene of fire.
"The fire engine hit one of the trucks but driver and co-driver escaped unhurt," Ali said.

The police boss said the early morning accident involved two trucks and a lorry.
According to the officer, the three vehicles were all heading towards Nakuru Town from Eldoret.
The driver of the lorry rammed into one of the trucks and later knocked the other from the side. He died on spot.
The co-driver who sustained injuries was rushed to Molo sub-county hospital for treatment.
"Three vehicles were involved in an accident at around 5.30am, killing a driver, while his co-driver sustained slight injuries," Ali has said.
