A man has been sentenced to life in prison after he was found guilty of defiling a 10-year-old girl.
Samuel Kipesa Nyangaresi, who appeared before Narok Senior Resident Magistrate Hosea Ng’ang’a, was charged with committing the offence on January 31, 2018, at Mpopong area on the outskirts of Narok town.
Nyangaresi had denied the charges, claiming that he was framed by the girl’s family, who were his close neighbours.
However, the court was told by five witnesses that the minor had gone to Nyangaresi’s home to borrow a jiko.

Nyangaresi locked her in the house and defiled her.
“Evidence given in court by the young girl made it clear that you are a person well-known to her and that you forcefully defiled her,” said Mr Ng’ang’a when reading his judgement. He gave Nyangaresi 14 days to appeal.
