Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa maintains that the acting United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary-General Cleophas Malala should be dismissed.

Barasa has accused Malala of being a mole of the Opposition.

Speaking on Spice FM on Wednesday, October 11, Barasa opined that Malala had steered clear of issuing counter statements to his counterpart in the ODM party Edwin Sifuna.

"We brought Malala because we wanted him to checkmate Senator Sifuna. We've seen the Nairobi Senator making statements about UDA that go unchallenged. Statements about the Kenya Kwanza administration, how we are failing, how we have not delivered on our mandate that we promised Kenyans," the lawmaker claimed.

He added; "We expect that our acting SG Cleophas Malala should be able to engage Sifuna but Malala forgets about his roles and begins to checkmate the ational Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula and Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi."

The Kimilili MP further accused Malala of inciting people from the Western region against Mudavadi and Wetangula.

Both Mudavadi and Wetangula are members of parties affiliated to the ruling party, UDA.

"You find the UDA SG convening meetings and asking Mudavadi to explain how many projects he has steered because he is a leader in the national government. He goes ahead to say the Western caucus is conducting a fundraising yet we are in government. This is opposition language and that is why we are saying Malala is a mole and should be shown the door," he said.

Malala is previously quoted saying that all political parties under the Kenya Kwanza Alliance should fold and join UDA.

UDA is the predominant party among those that make up the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, including Ford-K and ANC.

"You cannot claim to be working with the president while clinging on to your parties. During the day, you claim to be with the president only to retreat to Western and start popularising your parties in the night. It is high time that you disband them and join the president's UDA party," said Malala during an event in Mount Elgon, Bungoma County.
