The report of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) on the nomination of UDA National Chairman Johnson Muthama as a member of PSC will be presented before the Senate on Monday, February 13.
If approved by Senate, Muthama, who is former Machakos Senator, will join the commission as a male member representing the public while former Kakamega Woman Rep Rachel Ameso is the female member representing the public.
The tabling of the report follows interviews conducted by PSC on December 30 last year at Parliament Buildings where former Kisii Governor James Ongwae appeared.
Muthama told the interviewing panel led by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula that his experience as MP, senator and Chief Whip prepared him adequately to serve as PSC member.
He said he presided over free and fair UDA nominations and promised to ensure the commission champions for the welfare of MPs.
"I believe I have the necessary experience to serve as a member of PSC with being an MP for a long time preparing me adequately for this position," said Muthama.
