Agano Party presidential candidate David Mwaure has pledged to lower the cost of living if elected President in the August 9 General Election.
During his manifesto launch on Monday, July 4, Mwaure said that he wants to be remembered as the president who slayed the dragon of corruption, waste, and mismanagement of resources.
“I am standing here to say we are different. We will not do it the style of those who have been there before and I owe nobody allegiance,” he said.
He added that he would put in place measures to ensure that the prices of essential goods and services were reduced.
Mwaure proposed a 50 per cent reduction in Pay as You Earn (PAYE) to cushion Kenyans against the high cost of living.
He pledged to issue a moratorium to anybody holding public money in his first ten days in office.
“It has been done before but we shall do it. We are coming up with a resolution. Also, any money stashed abroad…return our money back. Failure to that, immediately and before the end of 30 days we shall institute a truth and recovery of stolen money commission which will expose, name and shame,” he said in his 12-point manifesto.
The Agano party presidential candidate launched his manifesto after Raila Odinga (Azimio la Umoja presidential flag bearer), Deputy President William Ruto (Kenya Kwanza), and Prof George Wajackoyah of Roots Party.
