Jubilee Party has said it has not issued any nomination certificate to preferred candidates.

Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni said they are not in a hurry.

"We have not issued any nomination certificates because we want to do a thorough exercise devoid of what we went through in 2017," he said yesterday at the Jubilee Centre after receiving aspirants from Meru County led by nominated MP Maoka Maore.

Parties are required by the  Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) to conduct nominations by April 22.

Mr Kioni, who is also the Ndaragwa MP, said some counties plan to use the negotiated democracy to come up with a list of the best candidates. He said from next week, the party will start issuing certificates where there are no opponents.
