A section of Nyamira County leaders have distanced themselves from a group that visited Deputy President William Ruto at his official residence in Karen, Nairobi.
Thirty out of the county's 36 Members of County Assembly accompanied by Borabu Member of Parliament Ben Momanyi yesterday castigated their counterparts for what they called "auctioning the county".
The leaders spoke during a meeting in Nakuru town.
Mr Momanyi said they would not be swayed politically and that they were planning to have one of their own in State House come 2022.
“It is surprising that a few of us are meeting other ambitious politicians when we have our own leader who has risen to high ranks of the current government who needs our support. We won’t let them take us in that direction,” said Momanyi.
