MIGORI, KENYA: Rongo MP Dalmas Otieno has once again warned of a political "tornado" in Nyanza and confirmed that his bid to form another political movement to rival Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in the region is still on course.
Speaking during the launch of a Sh10.3 million lighting project in his Constituency on Saturday, the legislator maintained that the bid had reached an advanced stage and warned ODM to brace for a bruising battle.
"Kalausi (whirl wind) is coming; it is real and is heavier than tsunami," he said.
He went on to explain the aim of his political outfit: "You will soon know its name and it will focus majorly on the development of this region."
Mr Otieno blamed underdevelopment in the region to perpetual political agitation, and maintained that his party will not allow rhetoric.
"You must be a leader in production politics to belong to the party that is coming," he told hundreds of residents.

"The party will work with other political movements in the country that are development conscious," he asserted.
The legislator further laughed off the referendum bid spearheaded by the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD), saying the initiative is bound to fail because the coalition leaders did not bring all its members on board.
"They will struggle but will not succeed; they must approach and seek the input of experienced members of the party."
