Police in Bondo sub-county have arrested two people in connection with Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam cheating at Kanyibok mixed secondary school in Usigu division, Siaya county.
According to Bondo sub-county police boss Roselyne Chebosho, Albert Okumbe Ndigiro a Board of Management teacher at Homabay Humanist Secondary school and Geoffrey Odhiambo Okoth an account clerk at Kanyibok mixed secondary school were arrested.
Chebosho disclosed that police nabbed the duo who are alleged to have colluded and had access to various 2020 KCSE exam papers on diverse dates.
“On Monday, April 12 Okumbe received a History paper through his phone at 9 am when the same was scheduled to start at 11 am. On April 13 he received a Geography paper at 9 am when it was scheduled to start at 11 am,” explained Chebosho.
The police spokesperson went on to say that the suspect also received an Agriculture paper on April 14 two hours before the scheduled starting time.

Upon interrogation by police officers, Okumbe revealed that he had received the examination papers from Emmanuel Odhiambo Onyango a fellow BOM teacher at Homabay Humanist Secondary school in Homabay County.
He further disclosed that he had sent the same papers to Anthony Oduor a form four candidate at Kanyibok secondary school and the school accounts clerk Mr Okoth.
Okumbe added that both Okoth and himself coordinated with the 35 candidates at the school to access the papers at a fee of Sh30 per paper.
Chebosho concluded that the two suspects will be detained at Bondo police station, their phones confiscated as the police conduct further investigations.
